To be able to claim status as Licensed Education Counsellor of the Education Counsellor Authority of New Zealand Ltd. you must be registered here as license holder. It is not unlawful in New Zealand to be an education counsellor/agent without being registered, but you then do not have the benefit of an online support group exclusive to ECANZ licensees, free upskilling as part of your professional development, and the marketing opportunities to highlight your license status. Registration here gives no points towards residence in New Zealand and is not part of any Government occupational/vocational licensing/registration scheme in New Zealand or Australia.
