Avoid the pitfalls of receiving unlicensed advice.
Working with an unlicensed education agent means that you do not know whether that counsellor continues to train-up their knowledge and skills annually, whether they adhere to the ECANZ Complaints Policy and whether they have signed-up to a rigorous Code of Conduct.
It is good practice to be careful dealing with those education agents who:
– Cannot show you they adhere to a Code of Conduct and complete CPD upskilling, like Licensed Education Counsellors do
– Claim they can guarantee admission for study anywhere in New Zealand
– Tell you they can get you jobs in New Zealand during or after you studies
– Give you advice about Post-Study Work Visas (unless they are Licensed Immigration Advisers or NZ-registered lawyers)
– Promise you scholarships without showing you which scholarships have been awarded to you and by whom
– Give you visa advice for family of students without being a Licensed Immigration Adviser or NZ-registered lawyer
